The model below will look fantastic alongside Corgi’s Anniversary Typhoon in 1/72nd scale !
To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the fearless air and ground crews, RCAF McDonnell Douglas CF-18A #761 Demonstration Hornet was given a special paint scheme. The upper portion of the aircraft pattern resembles the early 1940s earth tone and dark green camouflage used on Royal Air Force and Commonwealth Hawker Hurricane Mark IIs and Supermarine Spitfires during the Battle of Britain. The tail contains murals of key events and persons related to the BOB. The aircraft will be piloted by Captain Denis “Cheech” Beaulieu.
Next Corgi Arrivals
The wait is almost over for those of you that have pre-ordered the Avro Vulcan AA27202 in Anti Flash White. The latest update from Corgi is that the models are scheduled to land on time at the end of this month. With XH558 in her final display season, it has generated a lot of pre-order interest in the latest Vulcan in the Corgi range, especially where collectors have missed out on the first issue. Please do not delay in placing your order if you haven’t already.

AA27601 Hurricane MkI, V7434 DZ-R, Pilot Officer Irving Smith , No.151 Squadron, Digby, October 1940
No.151 Squadron received its first Hurricanes in December 1938. After serving defensive patrols in the opening chapters of World War Two the Squadron went on to cover the evacuation fleet at Dunkirk and flew missions over Northern France during May and June 1940. Pilot Officer Irving ‘Black’ Smith from New Zealand joined the Squadron in July 1940 and quickly became involved in the Battle of Britain during which he scored six kills. Smith went on to play a leading role in Operation Jericho, the RAF’s historic raid on the German prison at Amiens in February 1944, during which he piloted a de Havilland Mosquito IV. This model is a brand new Corgi tooling developed using CAD for a high degree of accuracy and detail.
