Since spring 2025, Borussia Dortmund has been travelling to their away games in Eurowings’ new “Team Airbus”. The first version, which premiered in 2016 and was also released as a Herpa model, attracted a lot of attention beyond the football scene. The BVB Airbus, completely bathed in black and yellow, was a highlight at airports all over Europe. In 2022, Eurowings was the first airline in the world to dedicate its own aircraft to millions of football fans: BVB fans were actively involved in the design of the “Fan Airbus” and were able to help decide which moments and personalities from BVB history should be immortalised on the aircraft. A striking feature of the latest design is the “BVB09” lettering in matt lacquer, which extends over the entire fuselage. With this novelty from Herpa, model and BVB fans can now enrich their collection with another highlight in black and yellow.
