Initially established in 2021 as Eurowings Discover, the Eurowings offshoot served long-haul tourist destinations in North America, the Caribbean and Africa with a fleet of Airbus A330s. A short time later, other tourist destinations, for example to the Canary Islands, were transferred to Eurowings Discover, for which the first medium-haul jets of the type A320 were added to the fleet. In order to differentiate itself more clearly from Eurowings, which is now concentrating on the low-cost segment, parent company Lufthansa separated the leisure airline division and restructured it as Discover Airlines, including independent branding. In addition to 13 A330s, the Discover fleet now includes twelve A320s for long-haul routes, which fly to popular tourist destinations around the Mediterranean but also in Scandinavia.
