Model Description
Herpa 1/200th scale High Density Plastic 573801 KLM Airbus A321neo. Available to pre-order at Flying Tigers.
With the entry into service of the first A321neo in September 2024, the modernisation of the medium-haul fleet began at the Dutch airline. The order for up to 60 A320neo and A321neo will be split between KLM and its subsidiaries Transavia and Transavia France. All Boeing 737s at the three airlines are to be successively replaced by the much more efficient aircraft of the A320neo family. The Dutch airline will equip the A321neo in a one-class seating arrangement with 227 seats. The first destinations included Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stockholm and Vienna. In an internal survey, the majority of KLM employees were in favor of naming the A321neo fleet, which began an extensive transformation of the fleet, after butterflies. This novelty on a scale of 1:200 with the registration PH-AXE is named after the map. The name of the butterfly is based on the drawing of the undersides of the wings, which are covered with a network of lines and are reminiscent of a map.
