On 2 May 1947, a Swissair passenger flight to America took off from Geneva for the first time. The fiftieth anniversary of this first Atlantic crossing was proudly celebrated, when it was repeated on 2 May 1997 with a DC-4 on the historic route and in historic Swissair livery. For this purpose, the Swiss rented a DC-4 and crew from the South African Airways Museum Society. 2022 marks the 75th anniversary of Swissair’s first transatlantic flight. To mark the occasion, Herpa is launching the DC-4, with which Swissair celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its first transatlantic flight, on a scale of 1:200.
