One of the most spectacular exhibits of the Technology Museum in Speyer am Rhein, which is not poor in highlights anyway, is the original of this prototype of the Soviet space transporter Buran OK-GLI. In a hall dedicated to space travel is the 36 m long and around 80 ton space glider, which carried out 25 atmospheric flights from 1984 to 1989. The test aircraft was powered by four jet engines at the rear, with which it could take off and land independently in contrast to NASA’s similar-looking space shuttle. The model of this legendary space transporter in scale 1:400 is delivered without chassis with a display stand.
