Herpa 1/200th scale 574211 Finnish Air Force McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet – Fighter Squadron 11 (HävLLv 11), Rovaniemi – Hornet Demo Team. Available to pre-order at Flying Tigers.
Of the 1,480 F/A-18 Hornets built, the majority were delivered to the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Export sales accounted for only a small percentage of total production. Three European countries ordered several examples of this extremely maneuverable multi-role fighter aircraft and are still using them today: Switzerland, Spain and Finland. The Nordic country ordered 64 Hornets, which replaced the MiG-21 and Saab Draken fighter jets. In 2023, the 11th Fighter Squadron presented this special livery at the Royal International Air Tattoo for their solo display in the UK, as well as at other air shows this season. The Finnish Hornets are to be gradually replaced by the new F-35 Lightning over the next few years.
