The Qatar Amiri Flight operates on-demand flights on behalf of government officials as well as the royal family of Qatar. It’s fleet of ten aircraft include smaller aircraft such as a Gulfstream and Airbus A319, but also much larger aircraft such as the Boeing 747-8 and also Airbus’s ultra-long range variant of its successful long-haul A340 family, the A340-500. The A340-500 turned out be the version with the lowest demand, with just 34 out of the in total 380 aircraft produced over all A340 variants. No airline operates the A340-500 commercially today, but it remains popular for government use due to its performance.
