The first of no less than 150 A321neo ordered was handed over to United Airlines in October 2023. N44501 is initially based in Chicago and opened routes to new destinations, including Phoenix, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Fort Myers and Las Vegas. Since then, 15 of these fuel-efficient aircraft have been delivered. The last A321neo is expected to join the fleet in 2032.
