The original for this third edition of the Dreamliner in the colours of Germany’s largest airline was also originally built for the Chinese Hainan Airlines. However, when it cancelled its order for several aircraft from Boeing, Lufthansa seized the opportunity for rapid availability and took over the 787, now registered as D-ABPC, at the beginning of 2023.
