Tactical Air Force Squadron 74 celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021. In addition, the Eurofighter Typhoon had been in service for 15 years and the unit had been a full member of the NATO Tiger Organization for five years. Enough reasons to celebrate and for a very special painting. With the support of designer Alexander Hamm, one of the most exciting colour schemes was created on a Eurofighter of the German Air Force in Neuburg. First and foremost, the Bavarian national colours with the anniversary coat of arms and tiger’s head on the vertical stabilizer dominate. The Typhoons of the TaktLwG 74 regularly take over the Quick Reaction Alert for the southern region of the Federal Republic of Germany and also complete missions abroad. In order to strengthen air policing in Baltic airspace, which has been in place since 2004, NATO has been using the military airport in Ämari, Estonia, west of the capital Tallinn, in addition to the base in Siauliai, Lithuania, since 2014. Germany participates annually on a rotational basis with an operational contingent of up to six combat aircraft. Eurofighters of the Bavarian Tigers have already been transferred from Neuburg an der Donau to Ämari four times.
