Herpa 1/200th scale 571319 Lufthansa Boeing 747-200 – 50th Anniversary of 747-200 introduction at Lufthansa – D-ABYD “Baden-Württemberg”. Available to pre-order at Flying Tigers.
Although the first of three 747-100s was handed over to Lufthansa as early as 1970, the success of the Jumbo Jet at Lufthansa only really began with the more powerful 747-200, which was put into service a year later. In 1971, fifty years ago, the “Baden-Württemberg” was the first of a total of 21 examples of the 200 series in the passenger service of the German airline. This special edition in the classic Lufthansa livery has numerous unusual details, including individually inserted landing lights or a removable landing gear held by magnets, which underlines the elegance of the Jumbo in flight. A robust metal stand is also included and ensures that the metal model stands securely.
