Herpa 1/500th scale 537445 Royal Air Force Lockheed C-130J Super Hercules – 47 Squadron – 50th Anniversary Hercules – ZH883. Available to pre-order at Flying Tigers.
New to this model of the 1:500 scale C-130J “Super Hercules”, the latest Hercules variant, are the six-blade propeller and the air refueling probe above the cockpit. Parallel to the first C-130J-30 with the long fuselage in the colours of the German Air Force (item no. 537438), a C-130J or C.5, as it is officially called by the Royal Air Force, appears with the shorter fuselage, but in a special livery for the 50th anniversary of the Hercules’ service in Great Britain. Founded in 1916, the 47th Squadron was restructured into a transport squadron from 1946 onwards. In 1968 she received her first Lockheed Hercules and finally from 1999 the first “Super Hercules”.
